Wedding and family photojournalism is a natural extension of what I've done for one of the top newspapers in the country.

I blend. Document. Search for moments. Every day.

I've worked as a photojournalist for 15 years, including ten years for the Chicago Tribune. Unlike traditional studio photographers, I search for and capture moments that go beyond the posed portrait to show not only how you look, but what you feel.

I am a graduate of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where I won NCPPA's College Photographer of the Year. I am a member of the Chicago Tribune team that won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize and my photographs have been published in national publications including the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the Washington Post and Newsweek.

I've taught Photojournalism at Northwestern University since 2002, something I'm incredibly passionate about. I apply my background as a photojournalist to every photo session and moment-driven photography is what I strive for each time I pick up the camera.

Remember Leslie and Christopher? They got married!

I traveled to El Paso, Texas to document their wedding at the Coronado Country Club and had such a wonderful time with these two. They radiate love and laughter! Their wedding was a lot like them… relaxed and very beautiful.

I had a fun opportunity to document Leslie and Christopher’s wedding with Huy Nguyen, a friend I met in college.

Huy photographed Christopher preparing for his wedding day. I mean, playing golf. :-)

Some days, you just need both!

Leslie and Christopher gave us plenty of time for photographs before the ceremony, which we loved. We photographed their first meeting on the golf course grounds.

Huy:

Then it was time for a shoot at this wonderful location Leslie and Christopher found for us. Wish we had this in Chicago!

Huy:

I just love Leslie’s laugh!

Then, it was time to get married!

Huy:

While jumping the broom, they also jumped into some gorgeous light!

During the reception, Leslie’s father made a long toast. :-)
